K.Y.P.S. (Kegel Youth Points Series) Season 18

Year End Tournament Rules 2024

 Divisions

The event will have 4 divisions:

Boys U15 Division      (Match Play Bracket; 8 players including a minimum of 4 from year points)

Boys U18 Division      (Match Play Bracket; 12 players including a minimum of 6 from year points)

Girls U15 Division      (Match Play Bracket; 8 players including a minimum of 4 from year points)

Girls U18 Division      (Match Play Bracket; 8 players including a minimum of 4 from year points)

The tournament is open to any USBC Youth Member who has participated in at least one KYPS event. Non-sanctioned players will not be able to participate.

 Format

Saturday: Last Chance Qualifier. 5 Game Sweeper. Highest finishers in each division fill the rest of the Match Play Bracket.

 Sunday: Match Play Bracket. All matches are best 2 out of 3 single game matches.

8:30am:           Practice Starts: Boys U18 Round of 12

9:30am:           Practice Starts: Boys U18 Round of 8

                        Practice Starts: Girls U18 Round of 8

 Reoil Lanes

 11:30am:         Practice Starts: Boys U15 Round of 8

                        Practice Starts: Girls U15 Round of 8

1:00pm:           Practice Starts: All Divisions Round of 4

2:15pm:           Practice Starts: All Division Championship Matches

 

  Ties

All ties will be broken by a best ball roll off. Bowlers will throw one ball with the higher pin count being the winner of the game. If both bowlers have a tie, bowlers will switch lanes and continue to bowl (first ball only) until there is a winner.

Entry Fee

$60 ($28 Lineage, $29 Prize Fund, $3 Expenses)

Automatically seeded players will still pay the entry fee on Sunday. Automatic qualifiers may bowl on Saturday as a pacer. The Pacer fee is $25.

Payment will be due on the day of the event. We accept cash and credit cards only.

 Scholarships

The year-end event will include extra scholarship money. Prize money will be returned 100%. Scholarships will be paid out on a minimum of 1:10 ratio. Ties will split the combined money for the positions. All scholarships will be managed by SMART.

 Registration

Pre-registration is recommended and can be done via email. (Payment will be collected on site) We have a limited amount of space so walk-ins will only be handled on a first come, first served basis. 

 Behavior

Proper behavior is expected of all participants and spectators. Any abuse of bowling equipment or other outrageous behavior (such as swearing) will not be tolerated. Incidents will result in 1- 1 verbal warning and/or 2- disqualification. All decisions will be made by tournament management.  All decisions are final! Any spectator’s behavior will be managed in the same manner.

 Lane Conditions

The competition will take place in tournament lane conditions. Consistent with Junior Gold, the pattern will not be released until after the event.

 Dress Code

All dress should be appropriate for competition. Collared/Sport shirts. Appropriate means no holy jeans, no hats, no t shirts, and no visible under garments. Tournament management reserves the right to refuse entry based on dress.

  

Tournament management decisions are final.
